For mountain hiking enthusiasts, Al Prà di Muriet is the perfect starting point. There are many trails suitable for all levels.

Starting from the agriturismo at Pian di Muriet, there are numerous routes suited to all levels of difficulty — from easy walks to challenging via ferratas recommended for experienced hikers.

Among the most notable routes are the ascent to Rocciamelone, the Via Francigena, and the climb to Mount Chaberton.

Surrounded by mountains, Al Prà di Muriet offers virtually endless trails — even in winter, they can be explored with snowshoes or skis.

Owl Trails, a loop of about 4 km, taking around 1.5 hours and of easy difficulty. Ideal for families, with the chance to spot birds of prey such as owls and little owls.
Mount Pirchiriano and the Sacra di San Michele, an easy walk of about 2 hours, featuring a beautiful panoramic climb toward the stunning abbey.
Certosa of Montebenedetto, suitable for moderately experienced walkers, along a historic religious mule track that unfolds into a wonderful walk through beech forests, mountain pastures, and remnants of the ancient charterhouse architecture.
Scarfiotti Mountain Hut from Rochemolles, a location in the upper Susa Valley, near the French border, with a medium to challenging level of difficulty. The hike reaches an altitude of about 2,500 meters, heading toward the transalpine peaks.
Mount Giusalet via Avanzà Hut, via the Avanzà mountain hut, the route climbs toward the summit, offering a spectacular view over Italy and France at an impressive 3,313 meters — ideal for experienced hikers due to the high difficulty level.
Ascent to Mount Rocciamelone, the hike starts from La Riposa, which can be reached by car from Monpantero (above Susa), and after about 4.5 hours of ascent you’ll reach the statue of the Madonna located at the summit.
Via Francigena – Susa Valley Section, a 50 km walk, which can be divided into 2 or 3 stages, with easy to moderate difficulty, following an ancient pilgrimage route to Rome. Abbeys, medieval villages, and Romanesque castles line the path through forests and fields.
Ascent to Mount Chaberton, a long hike of about 7 hours round trip and approximately 16 km in length — demanding and designed for experienced hikers. The trail follows former military roads through forests and steep climbs, eventually opening up into a lunar, windy, and spectacular landscape.

We didn’t have dinner at the agriturismo, but judging by the excellent sweet and savory breakfast prepared with local products, it would definitely have been worth it.
